The words of Messiah:
John 10:10 “ ..I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Abundantly in Greek is 'perissos'
Strongs definition:
superabundant (in quantity) or superior (in quality), exceeding abundantly above, more abundantly, advantage, exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure, more, superfluous (a quantity so abundant as to be considerably more than what one would expect or anticipate) vehement ( showing strong feeling; forceful, passionate, or intense)
The root word means to pierce through, beyond, on the other side
Life in Greek is 'zōē'
Thayer Definition:
1. The state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate (being to life, alive or having life), every living soul.
2. Of the absolute fulness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to GOD, and through him both to the hypostatic “logos” (GOD active in creation, revelation, and redemption) and to Yeshua in whom the “logos” put on human nature (The Word of YHVH Elohim)
• life real and genuine, a life active
and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Yeshua, but after the resurrection to be consummated by new accessions (among them a more perfect body), and to last for ever.
In other words a life rooted (John 15:5) in the Living Written Word, Yeshua, our Messiah that does not pertain to this world alone but stretches beyond our earthly lives into eternity in the presence of YHVH Elohim.
This abundance includes our physical as well as our spiritual life, it is complete and lacks nothing! That is why Yeshua says do not worry about physical needs because in Him it is already met! (Matt 6:25). It was done the moment Yeshua declared “It is finished” on the cross! (John 19:30)
As human beings sustaining our physical life on earth and our physical needs have become the focus point of our existence. Often we burn out completely in the rat race of survival.
We need to stop and take stock of our lives ! We need to turn our hearts back to the Word of GOD. Ps 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
Psa 139:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
Abundant earthly riches is not a prerequisite for this abundant life in Yeshua. Father YHVH promises daily provision for our all our needs as He knows exactly what we need before we ask (Matt 6:8)! We have to be good stuarts of this provision and live according to His principles clearly outlined in His Word (Deut 28).
You cannot come to the FATHER with ulterior motives, He is all-knowing and Almighty! A quick sinner’s prayer without the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit of GOD in a person’s life does not qualify for this abundant life that Yeshua promises. A true torn heart completely devoted to a life in Yeshua, the Word, overcoming obstacles through His strength and guidance from Ruach Ha’Kodesh assures us of this life of abundance on earth into eternity in the Presence of our Bridegroom King!
