Col 3:15 (KJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Thankfulness is not a state of mind but a state of heart! From a thankful heart flows obedience and from obedience the fruit of the Spirit!
A thankful heart is not influenced by emotions, feelings or circumstances. The Oxford dictionary’s meaning of thankful is, “expressing gratitude and relief”.
In the Word thankful means mindful of favours, grateful, thankful, pleasing, agreeable, acceptable to others but there is a deeper meaning:
Thayer Definition:
•”of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues.”
•”the spiritual condition of one governed by the power of divine grace.”
A thankful mind is dependent on favorable conditions or actions. It changes as the mind changes. A thankful heart is rooted in the intimate relationship with YHVH Elohim., “yada”. The hebrew picture of thankfulness.
Your entire being and conduct is from a state of thankfulness.
The opposite of thankful is ungrateful.

Let’s pray:
YHVH Elohim I love You with all my heart and thank You for never giving up on me. Forgive me for being ungrateful at times! I will give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Messiah Yeshua. (Eph 5:20) Amen
